Yaya Toure and Fernandinho were sent off as Manchester City fell to 2-1 defeat at the Etihad. The result means that Manuel Pellegrini's men have only collected two points from a possible 12, to leave their Champions League aspirations hanging in the balance. Neither player can have any complaint for seeing red, and it could, and perhaps should, have been worse for the Premier League holders with Samir Nasri fortunate not to have been given his marching orders late in the second half. City thought they had a penalty late in the match but Sergio Aguero was adjudged to have dived, and was subsequently issued with a red card.
